School Counseling Services
The school counseling program at Licking Heights North Elementary is one of the many resources that North has available for its students to assist them in achieving academic success. As part of the school counseling program, I meet with students throughout the year on an individual basis, in small groups, and in classroom lessons addressing developmental concerns that may impact student achievement. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child at Licking Heights North.
Classroom Lessons
Monthly classroom lessons address academic, personal/social, and career aspects of students’ development. The lessons this year will focus on goal-setting, cooperation, kindness, diversity and culture, respect, bullying, responsibility, and career exploration.
Group Counseling
Small group counseling allows students to utilize a range of activities over several weeks to build skills in relation to a particular issue. Groups include Organizational/Study Skills, Anger Management, Changing Families, Girls Club, Friendship Group, and Grief and Loss.
Individual Counseling
I am always available for individual counseling for students in need of support. Individual counseling may be needed just once, or more regularly. Parent permission is needed for ongoing individual counseling.
Lunch Bunch
Students are welcome to sign up for lunch bunch with the counselor. Lunch bunches are used to resolve conflicts, build social skills, and get to know new friends.
