LH North News

     Our school year has begun very smoothly this year.  The students have settled in nicely to their new classes. 
     We are extremely excited to announce that Licking Heights North was rated Excellent with Distinction by the Ohio Department of Education!  We are so proud of our staff and our students as we achieved all of our goals for the 2009-2010 school year.  We are truly looking forward to continuing this great work this year!
     We want to thank all of you that were able to attend our 5th grade Camp Meeting and our Open House.  It was great to see so many of our families in attendance. 
      We hope you enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful themed decorations depicting our building theme for this year, “Rocking Our Way to Success”.   This is a part of our effort to continue Quality Tools.  You will hear more about Quality Tools and our theme as we continue to focus on improving student achievement throughout the year.

Important Papers
     The first days of school are a busy time.  Please make sure that you take time to return the Emergency Medical Form, the Internet Permission Form, the Bus Rules form, and the Acknowledgement of Parent/Student Handbook form.  Also, please review the Mealtime Messenger, which contains information from our cafeteria.
 
School Fees  
     Please remember to pay school fees.  Fees for 4th grade are $44.00 and fees for 5th grade are $30.00 this year.  You should have received a sheet detailing these fees this week.  If you have any questions, please contact the LHN office at 740-927-3268.
 
School Supply Lists
Our school supply lists are on our website or you may request a hard copy from the office.
 
Student Drop-off
Students can be dropped off at 8:10 for breakfast.  All other students should be dropped off in front of the building at 8:15.
 
Student Pick-up 
Any change in pick-up status for your child needs to be communicated to the office by 2:30.
 
Sick Students
Please call the office by 10AM if your student is absent for any reason.  Then when they return, please send a note.
 
Lunch Accounts
Any questions you have concerning your child’s lunch account should be directed to Lisa Lewis at LHS 740-964-1674.   If you need a free and reduced lunch application, this may be obtained online on our school website.
 
5th Grade Walk-a-thon
This is the only fund raiser for 5th grade camp.  If the student raises $150.00, his/her camp trip is free!  Payments will be accepted in $50 increments only.  The first one is due on September 23rd.
 
Entertainment Book Sale
Our Entertainment Book Sale     began on August 27th.  You have the opportunity to purchase an Entertainment Coupon Book as a fundraiser to support activities at LHN.  Detailed information was sent home on the day of our kick-off. 
 
PTO Website
Please take the opportunity to join our PTO for $1.00.  This organization does a wonderful job of supporting our building through various fundraisers.  For the latest news on LHN / LHS PTO, browse the web at  www.lickingheightspto.com.
