Mark White's Biography and LHHS Goals
I arrived at LHHS in early October of 2012 as the Interim Principal for this year, and I have enjoyed working with the students, parents and staff in our school. We have a lot of great students and teachers, and I have been impressed by the commitment to education I've seen in our district.
I began by my career 30 years ago in Texas, and I've held a number of different positions, including high school English teacher, high school principal, and district superintendent. In each step of my career, I've tried to assist families and improve education for students. I like helping young people on a daily basis, and my professional goal is to see the organization move forward.
Licking Heights High School has a rating of Excellent from the Ohio Department of Education, and I want help the school to maintain that rating as we implement our other initiatives. Our teachers are working this year to transition their curriculum to the standards of the Common Core, to implement parts of the Race to the Top initiative, and to continue its Early College High School program next year with an exciting new partnership with Columbus State.
The district is making great strides in its efforts to upgrade its programming and to prepare its graduates to enter college and the global economy. I look forward to
We need to move forward to the future.
