The Licking Heights High School chapter of DECA is proud to announce its newly-elected officers. The following are the new officers for the 2018-2019 school year:
- Robert Belair, president
- Hanna Cox, vice president of marketing
- Tyuana Walker, vice president of social media
- Teagan Lee, vice president of hopitality
- Zoe Spears, chapter historian
At the Ohio DECA Fall Leadership Conference, Licking Heights High School senior and DECA President Bobby Belair also was elected as the State President for the 2018-2019 school year. Bobby will serve on the 75th team of state officers for the association. He is Licking Heights’ fifth state officer in the chapter’s history.
During the election process, Bobby campaigned against two other young men, delivered a formal campaign speech, and answered a series of impromptu questions.
“This is an honor that I will not take lightly, and I am excited for the opportunity to positively affect Ohio DECA and all the communities it reaches,” Belair said.
DECA is a co-curricular association of high school students designed to teach business, marketing, and entrepreneurship skills. It is an international association whose mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. At Licking Heights, the program is in its thirteenth year under advisor Steve Varricchio.
