School counselors make a big impact
Our Licking Heights Local Schools counselors make a big impact throughout our school buildings! Counselors design monthly classroom lessons focusing on goal-setting, cooperation, kindness, diversity and culture, respect, bullying, responsibility, and career exploration.

At Central Middle School, Ms. Wills and Mrs. Krouse provide time management and studying tips, and help students with organizational solutions. This information is especially helpful to students as the end of the grading period and state testing windows approach.
At North Elementary, Mrs. Hall and Miss Snider, counseling intern, provide individual and small group counseling. They hold small group counseling sessions to help students build skills in relation to a particular issue. These sessions take place over several weeks; throughout the school year, more than a dozen small groups have been successfully held! Group sessions include:
  • Leadership Club – A group focused on enhancing students’ leadership skills and promoting leadership in the school.
  • Circle of Friends – A group focused on increasing friendship skills.
  • Grief – A group to help students cope with the loss of a loved one.
  • Cool Cats – A group focused on providing coping skills and calm down strategies to combat anxiety and frustration.
