Licking Heights selects BSHM Architects to lead high school building project
Licking Heights Local Schools is pleased to announce the selection of BSHM Architects, who will lead the high school building project. The project, administered through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC,) is estimated to house 1,400 students in a LEED certified 240,000 square foot building.

BSHM Architects is an architectural firm that has been in continuous practice since 1962 and provides architectural services for public academic, higher education, cultural and performing arts and institutional use. While BSHM has always served the public academic sector, they have developed a special expertise in the design of buildings for PK-12 educational use due to the extensive amount of work completed in recent years. BSHM has continued to perform architectural services for OSFC Funded PK-12 Construction Projects and has gone on to provide architectural services for over 70 OSFC and Non-OSFC School Buildings exceeding 5,000,000 square feet.

The new high school building will use ideas from staff, community and the design team to produce a unique design to support Licking Heights’ curriculum. The project is targeted to be complete for occupancy in Fall, 2020. Construction of the new building will not affect classroom operations at the current high school facility, however there may be some restrictions on traffic to accommodate construction activity as work progresses.

The community is invited to our architecture-focused community outreach meeting on Tues., Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at Licking Heights High School. Your feedback is welcome and encouraged as we begin to plan for the building design. Please contact Linda Aitken, 740-927-6926 ext. 10150, if you would like to serve as a resource for upcoming discussions regarding this project.
