Licking Heights Local Schools is proud to announce that the district was named the 2024 Nonprofit of the Year by members of the Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC). The district was nominated for the award by fellow Chamber members, with the Pataskala Chamber Board of Directors making the final decision.
The district received the recognition for their accomplishments throughout the year, primarily including:
—The opening of three new district buildings, including Lima Ridge Elementary School, an Athletic Complex and a Transportation Center. The district also opened a new wing of the high school, too.
—A 4.5-star overall district rating from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW), with significant gains in the categories of Progress, Gap Closing, and Early Literacy. Licking Heights had the second-highest rate of academic growth (Progress) in the state.
—The awarding of a $2.2 million Career Technical Education Equipment Grant from ODEW to support the creation of the New Heights workforce preparation program.
—A complete district rebrand with the creation of a symbolic academic identity.
—Creation and execution of the district’s first-ever Strategic Plan focused on long-term, sustainable district growth and student success.
—Attending the majority of Chamber events throughout the year and being an active, engaged member.
“It is our sincere honor to be recognized as Nonprofit of the Year by the Pataskala Chamber of Commerce. Strong community engagement and partnerships between our schools and local businesses is the cornerstone of our success,” says Superintendent Dr. Kevin S. Miller. “Our year of success is a collaborative effort between district staff, our community partners, our business partners, and our students and families. Thank you to everyone who played a role in our success this year.”
Dr. Miller will officially receive the award on behalf of the district during the PACC Holiday Party on December 12 at the Williams Farm Venue. The district is deeply grateful for the recognition and support of fellow Chamber members.
