We are thrilled to announce that we have developed a partnership with the Waterford Upstart early learning program to get all four-year-old students headed to kindergarten at Heights access to kindergarten readiness activities for FREE!
Waterford Upstart is a FREE at-home early learning program that gives families the tools, coaching, and resources to put their child on a path to early academic success. Your student will learn foundational skills in reading, math, and science, right at home. Waterford provides families a year of digital Kindergarten readiness instruction at home, including a computer, software, and access to the internet that families get to keep at no charge. Waterford also provides a coach to answer questions and support families with implementation.
According to Waterford.org, “This past summer, 580 Ohio children across 54 counties were given the opportunity to prepare for kindergarten at home using Waterford Upstart and the results were impressive—the average program graduate entered kindergarten at a ‘Kindergarten Intermediate’ level—which is where most children score mid-point during their kindergarten year.”
The program comes with weekly real life supportive lessons for parents and guardians, too. For example, if your child is struggling with the letter ‘p,’ try pointing out the letter ‘p’ on packages or signs you may see the next time you are at the store. This support helps families learn techniques to support their child's early learning in ways that are specific and meaningful.
This program is available to all four-year-old students heading to Licking Heights for kindergarten in the 2024-25 school year. Click HERE to sign up!
