Our Muslim families recognize Lailat all Qadr on March 27. Lailat all Qadr is otherwise known as the Night of Power and is considered to be the Islamic calendar’s Holiest eve. During this night, Angel Jibril revealed the Holy Qur'an’s first verses to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This night falls within Ramadan’s final 10 days, and although the exact date is unidentified, it is commonly thought of as the Holy month’s 27th day. This "Night of Power" is considered the most appropriate time of the entire year to pray for salvation and blessings. A Muslim’s past sins are believed to be forgiven if the person prays throughout the night. Many people assemble at mosques during the Isha prayer, with many prayers being made until midnight.
